This spicy seafood rice recipeIt is probably what fishermen usually ate on their boats. It is a rice accompanied with what is fishing, and spices, in this case pepper, garlic and parsley, which used to be on boats, especially in the fishing boats of Valencia, Alicante and Murcia.
In that area there are true delights based on these cauldrons or rice paddies. They are also a good resource because in addition to being a very healthy and balanced dish, it is very easy and quick to make, and well, the spicy touch is second to none.
Ingredients for 4 people
400 gr. of rice, ½ kilo of mussels, ½ kilo of clams, ¼ of prawn rice a pair of grates, 2 ripe tomatoes, 1 green pepper, an onion, a small potato, a few strands of saffron, 4 cloves of garlic, 30 grains of black pepper, 8 or 10 branches of parsley, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and salt.
Preparation of spicy seafood rice
We chop the onion and the pepper and we dizzy it in a cauldron (or casserole) along with the grilles, in a good squirt of EVOO. Once all golden we add the peeled and chopped potato very small, we get dizzy, add the prawns, saffron and tomato and move everything well, let do a couple of minutes, cover with water and let cook 15 minutes.
Meanwhile in a separate pan we open the mussels and the clams, on a low heat with the pan covered.
And apart in a mortar we mash the pepper, garlic, part of parsley stems, with coarse salt. We reserve
Once the broth is made, what we beat rudely and we slip it. We put it on the fire and when it starts to boil we add the rice. 10 minutes later we add the mussels and the clams with its cooking broth and 5 minutes later we add all the rest of chopped parsley and the mashed, we move the cauldron so that it mixes well, we leave a few seconds and we separate from the fire. After resting a couple of minutes you will be ready to eat.

This spicy seafood rice traditionally eaten with a wooden spoon. Must be quite hot and spicy. You can add more or less pepper according to your taste, however I advise you not to fall short, because the spicy point fits very well. It is a rice that is enjoyed very much.
